My ‘Doorstep Portraits’ New Malden have been taking place place during the Coronavirus lockdown. The project involves visiting local residents during my daily walk to take their portraits from a 2m distance. In exchange for the images residents have been donating money to the local charities that had had been hugely impacted by the situation. Staywell a charity based right in the centre of New Malden provide support for older people and their carers as well as vulnerable adults and Kingston Foodbank who provide food and other supplies to local people in crisis. So far together we have raised almost £200!

The project has also meant I am able document the New Malden community whilst giving families a memento from a time that hopefully we will never have to repeat.

I can’t tell you how nice it is to see so many friendly faces and feel a real sense of community. Be sure to visit my social media pages for more images or to get involved.
